The world needs free, open source office software that works reliably and safely. We invented OOo, we developed it - and we are eager to ensure that the software will stand firm to its promises in the future.

OOo runs on a Mac just as reliably as on Windows or Linux and is entirely compatible with office suites of other software houses. It is open source-based and comes with an open program code, thus permitting individual adaptation as well as integration in more complex software solutions. And the best: OOo is absolutely free.

OpenOffice.org has only been possible because a large number of highly specialised software developers work on it. Bugs need to be fixed, updates developed and new features created. Private users have queries, business users have requests. That all costs money – but the main sponsor has now withdrawn its support; the basic funding has ceased. The most popular free, open source office software now misses the competence of their "fathers" - the expertise of those who have invented and developed it continuously until today.
